Franklin County Municipal Court provides court interpreting services for criminal and civil matters, for all hearings, trials, motions and court functions at no cost.

Treating people fairly and impartially is a cornerstone of the judicial system. Franklin County Municipal Court is committed to ensuring equal justice to all who come before the court including individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have limited English proficiency.

Many persons need the assistance of interpreters when they appear in court as parties or witnesses in order to participate meaningfully in those proceedings. Interpreters are provided by Franklin County Municipal Court in American Sign Language and forty-five other languages.

The Interpreter Services Department supports the Judiciary's goal of ensuring that persons who are limited English proficient (LEP) or who are deaf or hard of hearing have equal access to criminal and civil court proceedings, mediations, probation, and other court functions.
