|Clerk's Office Temporarily Closed May 14-15|
Due to a planned power outage by the City of Columbus, the Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk’s office will be temporarily closed to the public, except for posting the bond of an inmate, effective 7am on Saturday May 14. We expect to be fully operational by Sunday May 15 @ 8am.
JURY - REPORTING TIMES
Reporting times have been changed to allow you time to accomplish
necessary tasks during normal business hours. Currently, you will need to
report your first day
anytime between 8:00 am. and 10:15 am. This will help you to find parking
and to be in the jury assembly room before the traffic becomes a problem.
The orientation will start at 10:20 on your first day.
Each day thereafter, you can check
in anytime between 8:00 am and 10:30 am.
If you have serious conflicts, you may request a 1:30 reporting time to
start after your first day (this will be at the discretion of the Jury Commissioner).
This will be explained in detail on your first day. You are encouraged to
visit operational courtrooms in the morning session. The afternoon
session is normally completed by 3:00 p.m. for those jurors that are NOT on a case. If you are
selected for a case, you may be in the courtroom until
5:30 or 6:00. The judge (or bailiff) will tell you when to return the until the case is completed.
The program has greater flexibility than in years past.
When you report in on the first day, you will be given all the information you need to move through the process. There will be time for questions and answers. The Administrative Judge will welcome you and one of our trial judges will explain some of the process to you.
